Compromise

Awhile back, we did a blog post on the concept of compromise. It's a concept any good parent masters quickly when navigating through life with opinionated (and sometimes cranky...) children.

Though mommy hasn't gone grocery shopping with the kids often (only one time with both kids - and it was just for eggs and she will be forever grateful to Safeway for putting eggs, milk and other normally obnoxiously-located items right in the front door by the self-check out registers), when I have gone with Ryan lately, he's been quite a bugger about sitting in the cart. I guess when you're two, you'd much rather be walking by yourself, browsing through the cereal aisle and pulling random boxes off the shelf than sitting calmly and quietly in a shopping cart...who knew?

So in order to compromise, mommy decided to see if Rye would be interested in driving a car while she did the shopping. It was the most peaceful shopping trip the two of them had together in a long time :)
